Coast Guard Assistant Commandant (CGCAT) Recruitment 2025 : Step By Step Apply Online Form Full Process
1. Online Application (Stage I Registration)
- Apply online via the official portal at joinindiancoastguard.cdac.in between 8 July – 23 July 2025.
- Select your branch (General Duty or Technical), upload required documents (photo, signature, thumb impression, academic certificates, ID proof, category certificate, etc.), and pay the ₹300 fee (waived for SC/ST).
2. Stage I – CGCAT (Screening Test)
- A Computer‑based exam featuring 100 MCQs: 25 each from English, Reasoning & Numerical Ability, General Science & Maths, and General Knowledge.
- Duration: 2 hours; marking: +4 for correct, –1 for wrong responses.
- Candidates shortlisted based on merit (tie-break rules apply).
- Tentative exam date: 18 September 2025.
3. Stage II – PSB (Preliminary Selection Board)
- Held at centres such as Noida, Mumbai/Goa, Chennai, and Kolkata.
- Includes:
- Computerised Cognitive Battery Test (CCBT) (objective),
- Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT) (group exercise of discussion).
- Also: biometric/photo verification and document checking.
- This stage is qualifying only (Pass/Fail).

4. Stage III – FSB (Final Selection Board)
- Conducted over 4–5 days at CGSB, Noida.

- Psychological tests,

- Tentative period: January–October 2026.
5. Stage IV – Medical Examination
- Special Medical Board (SMB) at Base Hospital (usually New Delhi).
- Candidates declared unfit may appeal and appear before the Review Medical Board (RMB) within 21–42 days.
- Decision of RMB is final.
6. Stage V – Induction & Training
- Medically fit candidates from the final merit list are selected for the Naval Orientation Course at INA Ezhimala.
- Undergo photo/biometric re‑verification before joining.
- Trainings begin in December 2026 or early January 2027 at the academy.
